From my understanding, at least 2E names can be followed...
In general, code generators don't need long names, since they can use
combinations of one or two mnemonic characters...
So, no, neither 2E nor Plex needs long names. 2E still uses 6-character
field names.
Of course, this isn't a problem, since no-one ever looks at generated code
(nor should they need to).
