If you want do define a data structure like another data structure, you have
to use LIKEDS().
AFAIK you cannot pass MODS (dimension get lost), you have to define and pass
array data structures (Keyword DIM instead of OCCURS)

D SP2 PI
D ADs LIKEDS(globalDS) dim(20)

Betreff: MODS confusion

My program is supposed to get a MODS from an RPGIII. I can't see how this is
supposed to work.

Pgm RPGIV
Module1
D globalDS E DS EXTNAME(myFile) OCCURS(20)

SP1 B

CALL SP2 ( globalDS );

Module2
D globalDS E DS EXTNAME(myFile) OCCURS(20)

D SP2 PI
D ADs LIKE(globalDS)

C CALL RPGIII
C PARM ADs

Pgm RPGIII
IODS E DSMYFILE 20
C *ENTRY PLIST
C PARM ODS

ADs in Module2 SP2 is not a MODS or even a DS. How is it that I get back 20
occurrences of the DS? Is it by accident?

Thanks
