PGM2 is doing this :

MyPtr = %addr(MyDS);
After populating MyDS.

I think what you and Scott are saying is that %addr is also allocating the space.

PGM2 ends with return. Perhaps if I put *inlr to on I'd notice the difference.

Now if I do :

D MyDS DS LIKEDS ( gMyOtherDS )
DIM ( 100 )
D MyPtr S *

MyPtr = %addr(MyDS);
PGM2(MyPtr);

The DS in PGM2 must be BASED on the pointer. The same goes for MyDS in PGM1 if I want to use the DS. Right?
