I hear you, but one must start somewhere - otherwise one would never move. So an older book is OK, although a newer one is preferred.

I keep saying it- there are tutorials for free online - this guy should look at them.

I say stick to /free but show an example of fixed format and say you may see it if maintaining existing code.

I say strictly RPGLE. It should not be the purpose to cover RPG400, RPGII or RPGI at all. I'll concede two sentences, max, acknowledging their existence. Ok, maybe point out CVTRPGSRC...
