Nope.

cvthc converts the raw bits into a hexadecimal string.

At that level, there's no difference between 4 bytes used to store a
character value and 4 bytes used to store an integer.

You want the hexadecimal value of an integer, so pass the integer.

Your prototype for cvthc can do one of two things:

//Useable for any type
d ConvertToHexString...
d pr extproc('cvthc')
d hexString * value
d bytes * value
d nbrBytes 10i 0 value

In which case you'd have
d string8 s 8a
d intValue s 10i 0
/free
ConvertToHexSting = (%addr(string8):%addr(intValue):%size(string8));
/end-free

or something like so:
d ConvertInt4ToHexString...
d pr extproc('cvthc')
d hexString 8a
d int4 10i 0 const
d nbrBytes 10i 0 value

d ConvertInt1ToHexString...
d pr extproc('cvthc')
d hexString 2a
d int1 3i 0 const
d nbrBytes 10i 0 value


d ConvertCharToHexString...
d pr extproc('cvthc')
d hexString 2a
d char 1a const
d nbrBytes 10i 0 value

// others?

The second option is easier to use, but you need to prototype cvthc
multiple ways.
