This job is similar to a series of report generation jobs( a series of
about 20 sales reports). They have similar run-time priorities and they
are all run at off-peak hours on the weekend (our system is rarely
maxxed out in any case) so I don't believe this to be the source of our
problem. Additionally if we rerun it,it sometimes only takes 10-15
minutes (other times many hours) when we are on site during regular work
hours which is actually at a busier time system-wise than when it is
scheduled to run. I was hoping there might be a tool that could perform
analysis on the program and provide some stats that might tell me
something.

I would look first at job and profile run-time priorities.
Also at workload on the machine

Subject: Analyse RPG program

We have a job that recently has begun to take an incredibly long time
to
run and between the 3 programmers here we have not been able to figure
out why.

Most of the time it runs slowly (many hours) but every once in a
while
it will take 10 or 15 minutes. Is there a tool available that
analyses
your program as it is executing to look for
bottlenecks/flaws/locks/loops that can produce a report that may be
able
to help us find the source of the slowdown?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
