Excellent.

Technically, I probably should have used (as Simon Coulter did) the
QlgConvertCase API, since, as people always point out, using XLATE doesn't
work where you might have more complex character sets, where there are
letters with accents etc. But if you're just using the English alphabet
across a single CCSID, you can use XLATE, no problems. It's very fast.

Like I said, my code is quick and dirty - you could no doubt improve its
performance somewhat, but it sounds like you're not too bothered. Over 22K
records, I'd gess it would take a few minutes only. Most of that would be
the file I/O anway.
