A friend of mine from high school, who was a Marine Major
and used to train new USMC recruits, told me that the only people
that could become DI's (teachers) were those that had proven
that they were the best. Which invalidates the cliché.

What I wrote was my opinion - in my college experience (including Graduate
School), the adjunct faculty (part-time instructors who had a job in the
real world) brought more to the table from their work experience that the
full-time professors who had mostly theoretical knowledge.
