RE: Rename file field in RPGLE

You could rename the fields you want in the I specs.
IRecname
I Fieldnm Newfield

The first I spec must contain the record name of the file.

Use PREFIX keyword

FFILE1 IF E K DISK
F PREFIX(F1)

You can replace n number of characters of your field by using PREFIX(F1:2) this
mean fist 2 characters of the field names will be replaced by F1
