Re: Niftiest thing(s) you have done in RPG ILE or /FREE

I am afraid of any effort to write "Nifty code". All code should be
written in the most explanatory fashion with plenty of notes & white
spaces.

When you write thousands of lines of code a year, you even have trouble
returning to your own old code later on and understanding many things
that you have previously coded when they are not fully documented.

To me, "Nifty code" by definition is hard to understand if you have not
used the technique many times your self. What is the use in saving
lines of code if you have to add lines of documentation to explain what
you are doing?

With the continuously improving technologic of the System i there is
really no need to worry about writing more efficient coding.
Developers' time is better spent writing more code for their
organization.

That's just my opinion. I have coded 1000s of lines of code but I have
not done much coding as it pertains to the Internet on the i5.
