LOL....Bob I thought it showed the answer from Joe.....however, in case it
did not here it is:
The Subfile CTL record uses the window reference to refer to the footer
record and overlay is turned on on the CTL record.
0001.50 A OVERLAY
0002.20 A WINDOW(MAINFTR)
and the footer record holds the actual dimensions of the window. instead
of the CTL record (under normal circumstances).
0007.20 A WINDOW(3 2 18 70
*NOMSGLIN)
0007.30 A 18 26'F3-Exit F12-Cancel'
That was all there was to it.

I *think* you do this, if memory serves:
A R MAINFTR
A*%%TS SD 20081229 160242 SPISDXP REL-V5R4M0 5722-WDS
A OVERLAY
A WINDOW(MAINCTL)
Note the WINDOW(MAINCTL). This way, it shares the window with MAINCTL
rather than creating a whole new window that overlays the other one!
