Nothing wrong with STRDBG - and to step into a procedure, use F22 (shift-F10).

Now if your WDSC debugger is broken, I recommend getting the one that comes with jt400 - this is the Toolbox for Java and has been available since V4R2. Not sure when the debugger first appeared - OK - V5R2. In Infocenter you should look for "iSeries System Debugger" under either Programming somewhere - as usual, it ends up in different places at different releases.

V6R1 has a PDF with all you need to know - http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/systems/scope/i5os/topic/rzamq/rzamq.pdf - it can even be set up to start this graphical debugger when you run STRDBG.

Doesn't the latest version let you step into the procedure that you've placed your cursor on?! If not, why not?

See, unlike you guys, my code often doesn't work, meaning I need to spend lots of time debugging it, hence my dislike of in-line function calls...

Seriously though, I looked at all the various suggestions for making all the calls in-line and shuddered. Are there *any* benefits to having a single multiple-AND statement over separate statements? I guess it maybe looks cooler, but it's almost certainly no faster and much harder to debug and maintain.

LOL Adam!!

Just trying to be ornery! I do use functions in-line myself - and
sometimes wish I hadn't!
