JDBC has a translate binary setting. Here's an example connection string (Toolbox driver) with that setting in it:

jdbc:as400://myas400.com/;translate binary=true;

In the iSeries ODBC connection set-up there is a "Translation" table which has an option for translating 65535. Maybe JDBC has something similar.

Ash,

I did a CHGSYSVAL QCCSID to 37 during the middle of the day and never
looked back. Now, that doesn't change the CCSID of any existing files...
Others on the midrange-l list have followed my example. But we're corn
fed midwesterners and do not concern ourselves with supporting multiple
languages.

HiWhat should be the CCSID of files and JOB on CCSID, for example if i am
in
USA, i can have files and job CCSID as 37
I have seen some files and JOB with CCSID 65535,
I know that Java JDBC connection does not work with CCSID 65535,
so is there a IBM document which shows not to use CCSID 65535
