I understand that this seems like it would be a very simple fix, butThanks for the update, Gina. It's not necessary for you to defend your decision; most of us appreciate the work all of you folks in the languages and tools teams do. I know it goes doubly true for people like me who write tools. I've spent enough time writing code generation software to know that nothing is ever quite as simple as it looks <smile>.
actually it is more complex than you would expect. Given the fact that it
is not a simple, it took 20 years to find, it is easy to identify, and
there are two easy circumventions I decided my time was better spent on
fixing APARs without circumventions and developing new function for future
releases. I did confirm that it was not a duplicate of SE32782 and I was
even quoted in the PMR stating that fact. I take all PMRs seriously and do
the best I can to satisfy your concern. I would love to be able to fix
every problem reported and to supply a lot of new function every release,
but there is just not enough resource and time to do it all.
