The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I am trying the following code and getting error RNQ0115. The value
in both
fields is blank. Can someone shed some light as to why?
Lets see:
1) Data structures (and their sub-fields) are initialised to blanks
unless explicit initialisation is performed.
2) Varying-length fields have a 2-byte integer length at the start.
Therefore the 2-byte length is initialised to X'4040' which is 16448
which is a lot bigger than than the declared length of 450. That is
exactly what the message RNQ0115 told you.
The proper fix is to correctly initialise data structures by
specifying the INZ keyword on the DS declaration. This is simply good
programming practice and should be done on all data structure
definitions.

Simon Coulter.
