I've had this book for a few years now. I'd be interested in your
comments. I formed the impression that they weren't really
"pragmatic"* but often opted for the "path of least resistance" such
as programmer convenience, general laziness, and in some cases simply
took short-cuts that I'm sure in a real environment would only bite
them in the bum later. Perhaps that attitude falls under the
"practical" interpretation of "pragmatic" but I don't like it. Still,
the book was not a waste of money.
* I like the definition 3 in the Shorter OED (from 1638).
