While I agree with Joe that RPG's SELECT op-code is nice to have, it should be pointed out that otherTechnically true. But I hate using ELSEIF as a state controller, especially since it's NOT supported on many languages. C and Java don't support it, although one of the subtleties of the Java syntax allows "else if" to technically work just like "elseif".
languages ( or RPG itself) simply use IF - ELSIF - for this type of logic.
