I learned RPG at a Vo-Tech over 26 years ago, along with COBOL. My
instructors at that time said RPG was dead even back then, and I should
focus on COBOL only. I can count the number of COBOL programs I have
written in that time frame on both hands, no toes.
RPG, and all of it's flavors, forever:-)
Thanx,
Nick

Re: Is RPG 'DEAD"
Hi Adam
I can only imagine the responses you will get with this one. I consider
myself a young pup to the RPG arena, I have only been using it for 12
years.
However I have been hearing this for the last 12 years. I have to say I
ignore it because I dont believe it. Though you do not see (a lot if any)
advertising or classes for RPG, they are there. It just is not one of
those
exoctic programming languages or buzz words right now. However you can do
a
lot with it and IBM is continuning enhancements for it.
As far as ERP goes, depending on your business needs, I would highly
recommend Infor. They have been good to us and there product is good. Just
my two cents. Thanks
