That's not the point of business modules.

With business function modules you can change the LOGIC (and, to a certain extent, the database) behind the function without having to change the core program.

If you make major changes to your database layout, you're going to have to update the business functions and the programs that consume them.

'course, if you are judicious in your programming ... and define fields based on reference fields (either database or /copy defined), then you probably can get away with just having to recompile.
