It's unclear how any improvement in performance would come from executing a command through QCMDEXC rather than executing a compiled proc. I would expect a measurable increase in execution time when using QCMDEXC, and therefore worse performance. (Usually not significant, of course, due to single executions of a given command.)

Can you elaborate?
