Re: Leap year (Was Determine birth date 6s0 format)

Let me post my 5 cents to this topic:

1- The concept of "leap years" exist, is not new, but has NOT been same
"forever". In has, indeed, suffered many modifications. A good study of
those "variations" is in:

2- Asuming we are talking about "Gregorian calendar" (which, obviously
limits its functionality to year 1582+ ...
then as explained in above link, and omitting chinese or other
non-Gregorian calendars... , "leap years" can be calculated according to
following pseudocode (also reasonned in same link)

Year is "leap" IF( ((evely divisible by 4) AND NOT(evenly
divisible by 100)) OR (evely divisible by 400))

Thus, year 1992 or 2000 were leap years, but 1900 was NOT

In the "long term future", after some thousand years..., this pseudocode
will need to be modified, but then, some thousand years from now, don't
think even "i5" and/or RPG will stand...
