You can specify what character you want trimmed -- a second parameter. Nest a couple %trims to get them both.

There's no need for a second pass. You can specify multiple multiple characters in the second parameter and do it all in one go.

Hmm. What compiler did THAT come in at?!? Certainly since the V4R2 compiler. Vern? Jon? Anybody?
