Francis, Thank you for the clarification. I haven't had to work with
converting numeric to date, just character data.

Sorry, Robert, about my confusion. If you are converting numeric dates,
I don't understand why you are getting errors. Please let us know when
you find out.

If the field you are converting is numeric, then you can use

ASDF_ISO = %Date(DATECRT :*ISO);

If it's character and has no separators ('20080428'), then you must use

ASDF_ISO = %Date(DATECRT :*ISO0);

If it's character and has a separator, you should add the separator
after the *ISO:

ASDF_ISO = %Date(DATECRT :*ISO/); // DATECRT = '2008/04/28'
