Subject: Embedded SQL Question
The systems analyst says that my program is not catching selected records.
The only spot in the program where this function is performed is
conditioned by an embedded SQL statement in an RPG /Free program. My
question about the embedded SQL statement is this:
Using the PREPARE method, original statement was:
// Set Where For Records Having A Manual Or Spinner Recall Entry Since The
Last Recall Run
QQW = 'Where (BHBHST = ? Or BHBHST = ?) ' + // Manual Or Spinner Recall
Code
' And BHBTDT >= ? '; // Updated Since Last Recall
Run
Would it be more correct if it were structured as:
// Set Where For Records Having A Manual Or Spinner Recall Entry Since The
Last Recall Run
QQW = 'Where BHBHST = ? And BHBTDT >= ? ' + // Manual Recall Updated Since
Last Recall Run
' Or BHBHST = ? And BHBTDT >= ? '; // Spinner Recall Updated
Since Last Recall Run
To me, the first example should work. The analyst says otherwise.
