James,

What really frustrates me is that this "/if defined" does not exist in my copy of HTTPAPI.

I removed it before releasing version 1.21 for the very reason you're experiencing -- compatibility with V4R2.

One of the problems I'm having with Scott Klement's HTTPAPI is that
/if defined(*V5R2M0)
won't compile because predefined conditions in general, and the *VxRyMz condition in particular, didn't come in until at least the V4R4 compiler.

Personally, I didn't know ILE RPG *had* compiler directives until fairly recently, and didn't know it had conditional compilation until this week.

Can anybody suggest a workararound, short of physically excising the entire conditional block from my copy of the source?
