My point in posting\stating the following, is to inform that the OP should *not* create the file, just to rid of the message. The comment with "You must CRTDUPOBJ" may be misinterpreted, and thus may effect that action, without cause.

To clarify, the QAQQINI need never be created in QUSRSYS. In fact, unless there is some query option that needs to be defaulted globally [as an override to the default query engine processing rules], that file _should not exist in QUSRSYS_. The /debug message/ logged stating that the query engine was "Unable to retrieve query options file" is simply informing the programmer that they are not using any QAQQINI file in the job where debug is active; identifying for the programmer, that no query options were overridden for the following query-related activity. When a file is active, another message "Query options retrieved file..." identifies if/when overrides would be in effect and from what library [see CHGQRYA QRYOPTLIB()]. The latter message is CPI4339 and the former is CPI433A
