This would probably mean that the QAQQINI file was never created in QUSRSYS. This is the system default QAQQINI. As I recall, you must CRTDUPOBJ from the template that IBM distributes in QSYS, because this file uses triggers....

Was this the only message in the joblog? That seems unlikely, since the query optimizer in Debug mode is usually quite verbose. The messages you need will look something like "Access path suggestion for file XXXXXX."

If you see this, position your cursor to that line and press F1. Read EVERYTHING in that message and act on its suggestions.

"Unable to retrieve query options file."

Could this have to do with anything?

Also, should CHGQRYA and system value QQRYTIMLMT have any effect on my
SQLRPGLE? I have it compiled as a service pgm if that makes any difference.
