Personally I wouldn't compile from the DDS anyway. There is the
potential for changes in the operating system to change the way the
record format level is calculated, so that even if the DDS really were
the same, the record format could be different.

I would use CRTDUPOBJ, or possibly CPYF with CRTFILE(*YES).
