I'm hoping it is a bug Joe. When /Free was announced it was stated
that while the "missing parens" syntax would continue to be supported
in fixed form, that empty parens _would_ be supported in fixed and
required in /Free.
Since I was delighted to hear that (as I hated the fact that they
were not allowed in fixed) I am disappointed if they are optional in /
Free as well.
