Hi,
OUTER JOIN with a UNION to an EXCEPTION JOIN with the file order reversed
I have been doing embedded SQL for a while, but this made my eyes cross
We use New Generation's query product, and it does something similar to
Query/400. I would like to keep everything in one program though.
Basically, one work file is general ledger records (from the time of the
transaction) and the other is invoice information from the end of the
month. Sometimes they do not match. One example is an item class that
changes mid month. It will be under the old class in GL and the new in the
invoice file. I need to capture both, to identify why the item class
totals do not match.
I think MR will work best, once I figure it out again :) Thanks for the
advice!
