How many duplicates are you seeing?
If you are seeing more than one, then I think you have other problems.
My reasoning is that to update the record, you need to lock the file, and
therefore stopping any other updates. When the system crashed, I believe
only one record can be updated at that time. Hence, my reasoning.
This could mean that I have a brain like Sherlock Holmes, or conversely,
Inspector Cleausaeu

We have a RPG program that uses a record in a file to keep tracking of
