From what I can tell the R is in the File Designation file and it means
it indicates a Record Address file. I am not sure what this means as I
started programming in RGP III on the 38.

Hi,
What does the file type of "R" mean in an RPGII file spec? It's
position 18 of the "F" spec (where you might put a "P" for primary or
"I" for Input).
I so rarely use RPGII that I can no longer remember these old codes.
