I didn't quite understand before, and you are correct, after a position to
the user can't page up.

I think you could do a "binary" search of the cursor using fetch relative
to get around closing and re-opening a cursor to do a position to. I will
have to try this sometime.

The caveat with this approach is that in the situations I've seen, moving
relative a large number of records is painfully slow. It works fine for a
few records, but try to fetch relative a million records, and you'll be
sitting there a while.

The SQL engines may have speeded this up these days, but I haven't seen it.
