Subject: will v6r1 RPG support main procedure recursion?

reading about the improvements to RPG in v6r1 - supports threads, file
opens local to a procedure. Curious to know if there are still
compiler created static variables in an RPG program. ( as long as
there are no language features used in the program that require
statics: program level F specs, indicators ) Will V6R1 RPG support
recursive calls to the program main procedure?

What about a compiler option - lean and mean - which removes all the
legacy crap from RPG: data struct overlay and redefines, sub routines,
indicators, the cycle, PSSR. Add in a garbage collector, data struct
member procedures, java like exception handling. Basically do what it
takes to make RPG work in a CLI [1] kind of way with Java.
