Hello Peter,
Thanks a lot. I have modified the statements as below & it works fine now.
cmd = 'call '+%trim(VARPGMNM)+' PARM(SCINPUT)';
callp(e) qcmdexc(cmd:%len(%trim(cmd)));

Re: Dynamic 'callp'
Ewart,
I don't think you can do this, because the compiler needs to check the
prototype at compile time.
And if it can't determine which program you're going to call, it cannot
know if the prototype is correct.

Dynamic 'callp'
Hello All,
There may be some simple solution for this but I can't seem to get it. The
program I need to call through the 'callp' statement needs to be dynamic.
The following statement runs fine:
callp PGM515(SCINPUT);
Now the same statement calling program PGM515 above should be dynamic
like:
'callp '+%trim(VARPGMNM)+'(SCINPUT)';
Is this possible ???
Thanks & best regards
Ewart
