Btw,
SLACCT and SLTDAT are the fields in the SLSTRNL5 file, they are not
the variables.

Add the following statement right before the SQL:
EVAL MyVars = %char(SLTDAT) + '/' + %char(SLACCT)
Then debug it and tell us what is in that variable.
