Doug,

The SLTDAT field in the file an actual date field or a character/numeric field?

How about the RPG variable field?

I'm vaguely recalling something about issues surrounding date fields (formats?).

If (either?) are true date fields, make sure you have:

h datfmt(*ISO)

c/exec SQL
c+ set option
c+ datfmt = *ISO
c/end-exec

Okay, now we're on to something.

Add the following statement right before the SQL:

EVAL MyVars = %char(SLTDAT) + '/' + %char(SLACCT)

Then debug it and tell us what is in that variable.
