The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

a KLIST is a key list...some OS versions do not support inline keys (v5r1)
the only supported methods i know of are %KDS() (which IMO sucks) or using
a single or KLIST.
Thanks,

Re: Compile of Free Format
Do you mean klist?
I haven't used a klist in a very long time, don't particularly like
them,
prefer to use program variables dynamically. I think it makes things
more
visible as well as more straight forward. Just my 2 bits, thanks.

that also works for key lists just omit the parens...

Re: Compile of Free Format
Thanks, never really knew that. But then again I don't really have
too
many files with a single key field.

You really don't need parents if only one field on the chain.
I bet it's a line before the chain (no semi).

Add parenthesis around the key and the error should go away, your
command
should look like this:
1125.05 Chain ($Key_MBA2CPS0) MBA2CPS0; //002-a
Hope this helps.

When I compile my free format program it is giving me the error:
'*RNF7030 30 1766 112505 The name or indicator CHAIN is not
defined.'
The line of code looks like this:
1125.05 Chain $Key_MBA2CPS0 MBA2CPS0; //002-a
The program has many chain statements and all are formated the same way
but this is the only one that is giving me this error. I compile it
with DFTACTGRP=*NO
