Yes, pete said that FILE01 was a "generic" name coming in from a /COPY member. So it's probably not even a real data file...

He really wants "PMYFILE" from "FPMYFILE" to get the real file.

Michael Ryan: The RENAME on the File Spec is renaming the record format name. I
think you want to specify ExtName(FMYFILE) on the DS.


File spec has:

FPMYFILE UF A E K DISK RENAME(FMYFILE:FILE01)

and D Spec has:

DFileNameDS E ds extname(FILE01)

Compiler issues RNX3523:
External description for data structure FILE01 is not
found; data structure is ignored.
