Oh geez I hope this don't get outta hand...that's what SQL will do if no
"good" access paths are available...create one on the fly...as for
record locking...why? You wanna nuke 'em? Why worry? Just hit the

For the second option, couldn't you create an on-the-fly logical to only

select the records you want, then in the RPG you could just delete them?

That way you'd get the speed of only reading the records you need, and
the
protection of record locking.
