To add my $.02. In about 3 years I'll be off this list. The iSeries is on it's way out the door, no if's, and's, or but's. So, unless you can write RPG for Windows apps.. which would be really cool, I won't have a platform to write RPG on....

Well, not to sound like Chicken Little, but with System i sales down, (or whatever IBM calls it today), seemingly every quarter, I don't see what all these wonderful enhancements are going to do for us. A few more years
of IBM's sales strategy and there won't be anymore iSeries platforms for us to program anything on.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see IBM focus on SELLING the platform even if it takes a backseat to new development. I have complete faith in our community's ability to keep the ball rolling when it comes to coding. Vendors will make packages and people will collaborate to get things done with the tools they have available now, but that's all moot if there's no platform to do it on.
