Without a prefix on mstrDS the compile fails with *RNF3804 30 a 000001
Name CLCMYR in external description HCLMMAS is not renamed;

With a prefix specified on mstrDS the program compiles, but the data is not
loaded into the DS.

Does anyone know if this is a V5R2 problem or if there is a setting
somewhere to change this?

Gene,

Because mstrDS doesn't have a prefix specified, its fields have exactly
the
same names as the file fields, so it's automatically loaded when the file
is
read. It's the system I still use instead of using the 'new' LIKEREC
keyword
(because I compile back to V5R1).
