On an iSeries why would any one compiler generate different code than another?
You mean why would Cobol's MOVE CORRESPONDING not generate the exact
same machine code as RPG's MOVE? I'm only a baby (I just HAD to write a
compiler for Knuth's MIX language) but it seems to me that two compiler
teams would craft different results. Much like you and I would write
slightly different A/P check printing programs if given the exact same
assignment.
