What about decimal positions, European or English? Should commas be
accepted? Should order of commas or decimals matter, or quantity thereof
matter, meaning is 123.456.789 an acceptable number? Or 123.567,89? What
if the CSV file is pumping you 123456789 and you put that into a 5,0p
field?
Monitor does a pretty good job. Granted, you may cut down on the number
of monitor errors by numerous other testing techniques, but is that more
of a hindrance than a help? For example, in CL, one often does things
like
CRTPF ...
MONMSG (CPF....) DO
// you don't have authority to create a file in this library
MONMSG (CPF....) DO
// The source file does not exist
MONMSG (CPF....) DO
// You do not have authority to that source file
MONMSG (CPF....) DO
// You've exceeded your maximum number of objects that can be owned by a
single profile
...
