RE: Updating records from a subfile on the second screen

Derek - if your subfile is NOT a page at a time subfile, you can still read
the subfile for ALL the changed data, as long as you haven't cleared it.
All you've done with the display of the second screen is OVERLAYED the
first one.
As for using the hidden fields, use whatever fields you need to update the
file. Hidden fields are just fields that are NOT displayed to the user, but
are required with the data on each line that IS displayed to the user.

The next screen that is populated is a simple display file, and there
are
other updations that are done on pressing the confirm key.

eg. 2'nd screen(a simple display file)







  F2-Cancel            F5-Confirm

The subfile with name and designation was just an example. So now when i

press F5 on this screen,  the records of the previous screen(i.e. the
subile
need to be updated in the PF)

I need to update records from a subfile, but the records need to be
updated
on pressing the confirmation key on the next screen.

For eg. If i have a subfile as follows and the designation is entered

user, after performing validations for designation on pressing Enter,

goes to the next screen, and on pressing F5 on the next screen , the
designation needs to be updated, the file is keyed on No. How do i

store

these designations when i move to the next screen, since i will have

store the corresponding No. temporarily to chain to the file to update

record?
