It would _definitely_ cause problems in the subprocedure itself. The subprocedure would be trying to get the value of the parameter directly, while the caller would have passed the pointer to the parameter.
Depending on the data type of the parameter, the subprocedure would get a exception due to invalid data (say for packed or date parameters), or it would use nonsense data (say for character or integer parameters).
