Note: I've checked all programs and non of them are passing the last parameter and all of them are passing the first parameter.
Then you don't NEED to recompile. Probably SHOULD recompile but not necessary. The new required parameter IS being passed by all callers, and the obsolete optional parameter is NOT being passed by any caller so things will work as you expect.
