CRTPF FILE(FLATFIL100) RCDLEN(100) TEXT('Flat File RL 100')
...and then write an RPG program that reads whatever input you need and uses O-specifications to write the data you need to the flat file. Simple CPYF can be an issue if there are packed numeric fields. With RPG, you can edit them any way your trading partner wishes to see them.
