I, for example, don't subscribe to Midrange-L because it has too much junk, andtoo many "me too" messages.
Midrange-L is *supposed* to be for technical topics, but too many people post non-technical topics, such as System i marketing comments, etc. that ought to be in the midrange-nontech list. And there is thread drift, which is more excusable when the thread does start out technical, then wanders off into other areas.
On related note, people ought to be glad that I'm not the one running these lists or every post that starts out "I know this off-topic for this list, but ..." would result in the poster being banned from posting for a month.
And if it's an "inspirational" posting that the poster feels is so important that *everyone* needs to read it, it would result in the poster being banned from posting for a year. (Other than in CPF0000 where it would be okay.)
