you could use cpytoimpf with a tab delimited file.
Or cpytostmf, but this somehow just works with sourcemembers.

CPYTOSTMF FROMMBR('/qsys.lib/efftes.lib/qclsrc.file/AS400ZIP.mbr') 
TOSTMF('/tmp/test.txt')

Or you write the file directly from your rpg program.
There is a lot of documentation on the read() and write() apis on the 
internet.

Morning all;

I need to create a flat fixed lenth file from a file on the iSeries for 
sending via email.

I don't want it comm delimited.

Is there software on the iSeries to make this happen.

I've never had the need to do this, so need some advice.
