Hi Darrell, you could use cpytoimpf with a tab delimited file. Or cpytostmf, but this somehow just works with sourcemembers. CPYTOSTMF FROMMBR('/qsys.lib/efftes.lib/qclsrc.file/AS400ZIP.mbr') TOSTMF('/tmp/test.txt') Or you write the file directly from your rpg program. There is a lot of documentation on the read() and write() apis on the internet. - Martin ------------ Morning all; I need to create a flat fixed lenth file from a file on the iSeries for sending via email. I don't want it comm delimited. Is there software on the iSeries to make this happen. I've never had the need to do this, so need some advice. Thanks in advance Darrell Lee
